Pinon flats campground at the Great Sand Dunes
Located one mile north of the Great Sand Dunes visitors center, this campground has so much to offer. April through October, find sites that can host up to 8 people on individual sites and up to 40 people on a group site. You will find restrooms with sinks, flushing toilets, a dishwashing station as well as shower facilities in select areas. Find a fire grate and picnic table at each site as well. Campers will pay $20/night at the individual sites and $80/night for the group sites. Surrounded by pinon trees to provide shade, this campground is the perfect place to call home for a few days!
This traditional campground is perfect for the minimalist campers that don't want for amenities and extras. This tent friendly location offeres a small table and fire ring at each site as well as a food storage locker to keep the bears out. There are no restrooms or public water systems on the grounds, so be sure to plan accordingly. For the bargain deal of $11/night for individual sites and $20/night for group sites, this is an extremely affordable option.Offering beautiful views, easy access to Zapata Falls, bird watching, and seclusion, this is a great selection for those truly trying to escape the crowds while still being within cell service range.
Lake Como Road Free Dispersed Campgound
This is a free camping option for all, but most commonly for those hiking in and out of Lake Como. There are no amenities offered at this campground and planning ahead is a must. Be prepared to bring all of the food and water that you will need for your stay and suitable options to protect the food items that are brought. Being that the sites are free to stay on, there is no guarantee that there will be a spot open when you make your assent. Be sure to leave it as you found it so that campers after you are able to enjoy this option as well. Campers will experience the serenity of silence as there is little to no man made noise. The views are beautiful and the opportunity to connect with nature will be plentiful.
Ramble at the Great Sand Dunes
This option is a great cross between traditional camping and glamping. Pitch a tent, park your RV or book one of their adventure tents for the ultimate camping experience. Each site features a shade structure, picnic table, gas stove, horseshoe pit, coffee kettle, solo stove fire pit, pet leash hook, and parking. The adventure tent sites will feature all of the previously listed ammenities as well as a tent pad, windbreak wall, wagon, and shared water access. This community style campground offers access to multiple trails, a 9 hole disk golf course, cornhole, stargazing, short distance trips to the National Park, and more! On top of all of these amazing amenities, you will find a bath house within walking distance from your site that offers hot showers, flushing toilets, sinks, changing tables, wifi access, firewood, and toiletries. Great Sand Dunes Oasis Campground
We know that traditional camping is not for everyone and the Oasis is a great option for those that want to get away without getting too far from all of the things you need day to day. Offering cabins, a motel, groceries, a restaurant, gasoline fill up, RV hook ups, as well as tent camping, they really have it all! You also have the option to rent sand boards and sand sleds for your sand dunes adventure right on site. Find hot showers and pure drinking water, a gift shop, and incredible views all on this catch all location.
This roadside RV park is anything but bland. Bring your camper or RV, pitch a tent, or rent a cabin at this location. Considered a community style camping option, you will have the opportunity to meet people from all over the place to mingle with during your stay!
