Our top priority is and has always been the safety of our guests and visitors. We are continuing to monitor COVID-19 developments from local and state officials and will remain engaged with new guidance and regulations as they arrive. At this time, Alamosa County is currently meeting all of Colorado’s Dial Framework objectives and as a result, has no public health orders or travel restrictions in place. We’ll continue to provide relevant updates to this page as things continue to evolve.

The Great Sand Dunes National Park

County Lane 6N has reopened after construction closures during the summer of 2022. 

Masks are optional at the Great Sand Dunes. 

There are no area or building closures at the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Masks are currently required in indoor settings, such as restrooms and the visitor center. You can check the park's Current Conditions page, for the latest updates. 

Colorado Gators Reptile Park

Due to a fire, Colorado Gators Reptile Park is currently closed. They hope to reopen on May 1, check back here for details. Learn more by visiting their website
